September 30th marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the survivors of residential schools, recognizing the lasting impacts it has on Indigenous families and communities and remembering the children who never returned home.
These commemorations provide an opportunity to deepen Canada’s understanding of the intergenerational effects of residential schools and to reflect on their enduring legacy as part of the ongoing journey toward truth, healing, and reconciliation.
Brock University is hosting events for students, staff and the community and are encouraged to attend these events to educate, increase awareness and reflect.
