Our Grade 1 Explore students were absolute citizen scientists today at the Leighton Art Centre!
With Mr. Critchley — and the wonderful leadership of Mrs. Whaley and Mrs. Reschke — our young Panthers collected real field data on two incredible birds: the mountain bluebird and the tree swallow. 💚🐾
Students recorded how many eggs and babies were in each nest box, identified which species lived where, and watched as Mr. Critchley carefully banded adult birds. Thanks to our amazing volunteers, those birds were released gently back into nature — a moment of pure wonder for our learners.
Back at school, our gratitude circle focused on our hopes and dreams for the birds we met today. The empathy, curiosity, and care these Grade 1s showed was truly inspiring.
Thank you, Mr. Critchley, Mrs. Whaley, Mrs. Reschke, and the Leighton Art Centre for another unforgettable Explore experience!

🎉 50 Years of Percy Pegler! 🎉 What an incredible day celebrating 50 years of learning, belonging, and community at École Percy Pegler School in .school.division! We were thrilled to welcome approximately 650 current and former students, families, staff, retirees, and community members to our Anniversary BBQ. It was especially meaningful to reconnect with former teachers—including some who were here during the very first years our school opened its doors. A special thank you to our guests who helped make the day memorable, including and .9 for joining in the celebration. Our students proudly marked the occasion with commemorative t-shirts, buttons, and stickers generously provided by School Council. From sharing stories and memories to celebrating the generations of Panthers who have called Percy Pegler home, the day was a wonderful reflection of the strong community that has shaped our school for five decades.
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered (), and helped make this milestone celebration such a success. Here’s to 50 years of learning, connection, and community—and to many more years ahead! 💚🖤

We are proud of how confidently our Panthers participated in today’s lockdown drill. With support from the Okotoks RCMP, students demonstrated calm, quiet focus, and a strong understanding of expectations.
At EPPS, safety drills are practiced in a reassuring, trauma‑informed way to help students feel secure and prepared. We are grateful to our staff, students, and community partners for their commitment to maintaining a safe and caring school environment. 💚🐾

Today we welcomed a very special visitor from Australia — Allison Faux, who attended École Percy Pegler when it first opened 50 years ago.
Allison and her son toured the school, flipped through old yearbooks, and she could name every classmate as if it were yesterday.
So many stories. So many memories. So much belonging that still lives here 💚🐾 panther pride forever.
Once a Panther, always a Panther 🐾
Connection. Curiosity. Confidence.

Today our Panthers learned from psychologist Carmen Gietz about the power of communication and problem‑solving.
She reminded us that disagreements are a natural part of working together — we all bring different values, ideas, and opinions. When we learn to navigate those differences, our relationships and our teamwork grow stronger.
As our young entrepreneurs prepare for the Entrepreneurial Fair, they’re practicing what great collaborators do: contribute, communicate, and work toward shared goals.
We also explored the STAR model — Stop, Think, Act, Recover — a simple tool to help teams stay grounded and move forward together.
Proud of our Panthers and their growing Team Talk skills.
