SUMMER CAMPS!

We are offering two different summer camps this year.
Each camp runs 5 days from 9AM to 12PM.

July 13-17 Ages 7+

This is our craft and games camp!

Everyday will be a new craft and game.

-Tie Dye & Lego build off
-Mini bow and arrows & Soccer
-Patch your gi & Pump track ( or park)
-Retro Oasis & Jiu-Jitsu
-Waterpark picnic

July 27-31 Ages 10+

This is our Advanced BJJ Camp

This will be focused for our students wanting to learn more advanced bjj.

Everyday will focus on a new series of techniques and submissions.

-X guard
-Dela Riva
-Rolling back takes and knee bars
-Straight ankle locks and more!
-Waterpark picnic or a movie day.

Open to current and previous students to fill spaces first.

Cost $295/camp
We need 8-10 kids to run these.
Non-refundable deposit of half.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our longtime student—and even more importantly, our friend—Sean Todd, a brown belt at Okotoks Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Sean passed away suddenly last week, and he will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Sean was more than a teammate; he was part of the fabric of our academy and our community. If you knew Sean, you were lucky. If you were truly in his circle, you knew just how invaluable he was—loyal, kind, and always there when it mattered most.
Our hearts are especially with his son, Jayce, who trains with us. Please know that he will have the full strength of this team behind him—we will be there for him whenever things feel heavy.
Sean meant so much to all of us, and this loss will be felt for a long time.
Rest in peace, Sean. You will never be forgotten.

Our Friday class has moved to Saturday mornings!

You know I like coming here and beating the 💩 out of people. I also like socializing. It can really make a bad day better. This feels like I'm talking in a Disney movie cause this so sappy.

Hmm Sweep or submission?
Me: Either.
I'd say 🌸 flower sweep... I really like the Ezekiel.

What would you tell someone about bjj who doesn't do it?

Don't do it. ( 😂 insert actual laughter from the boys) Well maybe like uh give it a shot. It's worth it, you can become a blue belt like me.

When we opened there wasn't even a category for "Best Martial Arts Studio"
I actually wrote the western wheel multiple times asking for more inclusive categories.

A few years ago, it happened, there was a category for us and I was so proud. We won gold the first year, I shared the link, I voted myself, I just wanted that recognition.
The second year we won silver, incredible accomplishment as I only shared on our private fb group.
This year we won bronze. I'm so proud of this as not once did we share a link, ask for votes. This award came organically and through the people who truly believe in us and support what we are doing over here at Okotoks Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Like I tell our students, it's not about the win. It's the work you put in on the journey. The win is icing on the cake.

Thank you Okotoks, it's been an incredible 13 years being one of your favorite martial arts studios.
