Wishing our learning community a Happy Halloween from the Division Office team!
May you have a safe and fun-filled weekend. We look forward to seeing you back on Monday!
🔎 You may notice several individuals rocking a classic cardigan. They are paying homage to the legendary Jen Skory who retires today from a 25 year career with FSD. Thank you, Jen, for your positive impact on our organization. You have helped so many, and your legacy continues to shine throughout the Division.

We love where we live, work, learn, and play.
Our Outdoor Education students went on their final trip of the semester. A 3 day backpacking trip which included 20+ km of hiking over the 3 days. In small groups, students were responsible to plan, prepare and cook their meals while they were away. They also had to work together to get all of their gear to their campsite and back home. They showed some amazing resilience and grit.
Thank you to Mr Kotowich for planning and organizing this final adventure for the students. Thank you to Mr Jones and all of the parents for volunteering 3 days of their time to support and make possible this opportunity for our students.

Our Lead Team was honoured to join our Kookum Virginia, alongside our Indigenous Learning Coordinator, Charity Tegler, at George Lane Park yesterday. We shared moments of tranquility within the glorious autumnal colours of the park-- with a few rambunctious squirrels popping by to say hello.
We spoke of our shared responsibility to the land and discussed how we can work toward a more authentic land acknowledgement that represents the truths and our call to action. The Lead Team is grateful for Virginia's time and knowledge to improve our relationships with each other and our Earth.
We would be remiss to not encourage you to check out a feature in today's Wheel showcasing "All My Relations" a provincially-recognized course developed by our very own Charity Tegler, in coordination with our great teachers, knowledge keepers and elders.
