Our finished craft that took us 2 weeks to complete, because we did it all in steps.
It's not only an Autumn decoration, it's also a Halloween decoration!
The kids worked on a lot of fine motor skills, glueing skills, sensory crafting and patience to make these.
I think they turned out awesome and they were so proud of their creations!

This week we examined some rocks, shells and a whale bone....that's right, a piece of vertebrae from a whale that lived...

This week we examined some rocks, shells and a whale bone....that's right, a piece of vertebrae from a whale that lived in the Arctic who naturally died and the bone was found washed up on shore over 30 years ago.

We also examined which pieces let light pass through and ones that didn't, we compared textures, colours and other features.

All pieces were donated to daycare from a person who worked in the Arctic and loved to travel.

The big kid crew are trying different bread machine banana bread recipes. So far they made a loaf that was very very dense, this week they made peanut butter banana bread, which was pretty good. Next week the plan is to make Nutella Banana bread!
