Financial assistance available. Brigs is a charitable organization dedicated to building leadership, self-efficacy and self-esteem in youth aged 13-18.

Registered charity offering by-youth-for-youth leadership programs that develop personal, social, and practical skills for youth 13-18 years old, through tall ship sailing and maintenance. This is accomplished through the peer-to-peer delivery of challenging programs aboard our traditionally-rigged vessel, with a focus on safety and the creation of positive and memorable experiences on board. Even though June is Pride Month, Brigs celebrates diversity amongst our crew all year round.

We are glad to provide a safe environment for LGBTQ+ youth on our boats for them to thrive and be their true selves. ⚓️ 🏳️‍🌈⚓️

“When was the last time you did something for the first time?”

Brigs invites you to join our Adult Voyage from Windsor to Port Elgin, June 22nd to June 26th.

Step aboard the TS Playfair and become an active member of the ship’s company, learning the ropes (literally!) as well as how to steer, stand lookout, learn the names of the ship’s parts and join in the essential elements of communal life on board, including cooking and cleaning.

You will learn to navigate the seaway as we pass beneath the impressive illuminated bridges that join Canada and the United States. Onwards we head towards Windsor, leaving Lake Erie and sail through the St. Clair River to Sarnia. We’ll say hello to Lake Huron and end our voyage in beautiful Port Elgin.

No sailing experience is required. The ship’s crew will teach you everything you need to know.

For more information go to brigs.ca and check out Adult Sails.
