As a paediatric and obstetrical anesthesiologist, these are the top 3 things I started doing that decreases my stress and increases my performance the most in my day-to-day anesthesia practice:
1-Videolarygoscope for 2 populations in particular: all neonates and every obstetrical patient in labour;
2-Actively asking for feedback to recovery nurses and other colleagues about my work and its results
Having this question in mind really helps: “what is it that I am doing or not doing that is getting on my way of improving”. Sometimes it hurts, but it’s worth it for many reasons we could discuss in another post. The question is from a great book: "Thanks for the Feedback"
3-Using ultrasound for every epidural.
What are your secret weapons in your daily practice?
