A new EarlyON at Mohawk College is opening on October 9th!

Today’s Family is excited to announce a new collaboration with Mohawk College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program for families.

Families are invited to play, connect, and learn together at the new EarlyON Child and Family Centre. The space also offers valuable hands-on learning opportunities for ECE students, creating a meaningful connection between learning and community.

We’re excited to bring families and future ECE professionals together at Mohawk!

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we recognize that this work begins with children, honouring their voices, best interests, and connections to one another, their communities, and the land.

In this video, Ana shares what she has learned through Four Seasons of Pedagogy professional learning and how that learning has shaped her practice. Ana reflects on the relationship between land, children, families, and educators, and the importance of nurturing these connections with intention and care.

Roots of Empathy brings children together with an infant and caregiver to help them learn about emotions, relationships, and what it means to care for one another.

Families can be part of that learning, too. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, or family member, your time, experiences and participation can help children build empathy that lasts beyond the classroom.

Over the past year, a group of preschool children, with all their wonder, wandering through their city, interpreting and making meaning with art, has helped us to bring clarity to the definition of quality in early childhood education.

With their help, to us, quality is shaped by children and framed in gold, worthy of being seen and understand by anyone who stops to listen.

Inspired by a preschool story about children creating their own gold-framed gallery, our Annual Report introduces our new Quality Framework and Declaration of Quality, bringing together the values, practices, and commitments that guide our work.
