CAOT is inviting members who are internationally educated occupational therapists and previously attended OTepp to write a brief profile of themselves for the feature “Everyday Stories” in OT Now. If you are interested, please contact Janna MacLachlan at [email protected].

Eligible participants in the OTepp Certificate Program will begin their practicum experiences near the end of May. Would you like the opportunity to precept an IEOT? There are mutual benefits: you will see OT through another lens and culture, assist a colleague, and possibly recruit potential employees! Kwantlen Polytechnic University is presently taking applications for the May 2013 intake of the Professional Communication For Internationally Educated Health Professionals (IEHP) course. You must be living in British Columbia to enroll in this course. Interested individuals can email [email protected] for an application package. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2013. OTepp classes are held face to face at McMaster University in the IAHS building. Past or present participants are welcome to drop in and visit!

Registration for Course 4, Clinical Reasoning and Critical Thinking in a Practice Process, is open until March 1, 2013. After Course 4, our full certficate program students will enjoy a four week break before proceeding to practicum!

Course 1 has wrapped up and we are now ready to welcome students to Course 2 - Communication, Collaboration and Practice Knowledge. Remember that because of the Family Day holiday in Ontario on February 18, class has been moved to February 19.

OTepp is proud to announce that CAOT will now be offering the Occupational Therapy Exam Module (OTEM) and MOMENTUM, a mentorship module. These modules were developed by the OTepp team and will be delivered by CAOT to ensure their long term sustainability. Please refer to www.caot.ca/education to register.
