Volunteer Week April 19th to 25th
The Hamilton Literacy Council appreciates all of our hard working volunteers, this week and every week of the year!
The Hamilton Literacy Council helps adults improve their literacy skills. What do we do? Our service is free, private, and one-to-one. How do we do it?
We are a non-profit, community-based organization that provides basic (grade 1 - 5 equivalent) training in reading, writing, and math to English-speaking adults. We have been assisting adults with their literacy skills since 1973. We train volunteers to provide one-to-one tutoring to adults aged 19 and over. We also run four small group classes three times a week.
