The letter from the school is as follows:

Dear Families,

This morning, students and staff were required to evacuate the school due to reports of a strong odor within the building. The fire alarm was activated at approximately 9:00 a.m. while the Fire Department investigated.

The Fire Department has confirmed the odor did not pose any safety risk. However, some classes were temporarily relocated to other areas of the school while we continued to ventilate the school.

Classes have since resumed as normal, and we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure a safe and comfortable learning environment for everyone. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school directly.

Our annual 🎃 Idlewyld Manor Halloween Parade will take place on Friday October 31, 2025 9:30 a.m.

➡️ Students will parade out the front of the school — families are welcome to watch! Please keep the walkway clear so everyone can walk safely.
➡️ The parade will head east down Sanitorium to Idlewyld Manor, where students will parade outside the courtyard and entrance. Each child will receive a small bag of chips.

📄 Forms have been sent home — if you do not wish for your child to participate or receive chips, please return the form. Otherwise, we’ll assume your child is joining the fun!

We can’t wait to see everyone’s creative costumes but please ensure NO MASKS and NO WEAPONS are part of costumes!
