For students in McMaster University’s Master of Biomedical Innovation (MBI) program, the path to a new health innovation does not begin with a solution – it begins with a problem.

Nine student teams recently presented their proposed solutions to real-world health-care challenges at MBI’s final pitch competition. The teams competed for $8,500 in prizes, bringing a year of clinical immersion, needs-finding, validation, prototyping and business development to a close.
