At first glance, Indigenous Student Services (ISS) might look like a place for workshops, tutoring, or academic help. But for Indigenous students at Mohawk College, it’s something much more.

ISS is where students meet mentors before they even apply. It’s where friendships form through Pathfinder, where questions are answered, confidence is built, and support continues long after the first day of class. From academic guidance and peer tutoring to scholarships, cultural programming, and quiet moments over tea, ISS helps students feel seen, supported, and connected.

For students like Maggie, Keywayden, and Shane, ISS has been a constant, helping them manage course loads, access funding, discover new skills, and find a sense of belonging on campus.

More than a service, ISS is a community that listens, encourages, and walks alongside Indigenous students every step of the way.
