🌿 The Casa Montessori Experience 🌿
The Casa classroom, designed for children aged 2.5 to 6, is a cornerstone of early Montessori education. It is where curiosity, independence, and a genuine love of learning are cultivated each day.

Maple Mountain Young Children’s Community (YCC)
Welcome to our YCC! It is named after Maple Mountain, which is located within the Temagami region’s Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park. It is considered a sacred site by the indigenous Temagami First Nation.
Our YCC is specifically designed for children under 3 years old. Our beautiful, prepared environments are sensorially-rich, allowing for optimal learning conditions where children can work towards independence.
With loving and welcoming arms, our guides (educators) always take extra care with the inner spirit of each individual child and ensure to provide an environment where they feel safe, respected and loved.

Silver Peak Casa
Welcome to our beautiful and spacious Casa classroom! Silver Peak is named after the pinnacle of the La Cloche Mountains located in Killarney Provincial Park.
Our Casa classroom has been carefully crafted for children aged 2.5-6 years old and is designed to allow for optimal conditions for learning based on child development and the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori.
Our highly educated and passionate team gently guide our students towards independence in an environment where they feel safe, welcomed and loved.

As we reflect on International Women’s Day, we celebrate and honour the incredibly ingenious trailblazer, Dr. Maria Montessori!
Montessori’s work over the course of her lifetime has taught us many insightful things but primarily that children are capable and independent when given the opportunity to exercise their abilities in the right environment while being gently guided by an informed and prepared adult.
Montessori’s legacy continues to have a huge impact on education systems all over the world, emphasizing the importance of a child’s individual growth, while respecting their unique abilities, and allowing them active participation in their own learning journey.
Montessori was an advocate for women’s rights. Her method demonstrates a unique, innovative approach to teaching that empowers both women educators and children, particularly girls, by encouraging their independence and critical thinking skills.
We celebrate the incredible impact Dr. Maria Montessori had on this world, today, and everyday! We also celebrate our wonderful team of dedicated and passionate educators at Montessori on the Mountain! Happy International Women’s Day to all the wonderful women in our lives!
