Share

OFHSA was the first provincial Home and School Federation in Canada. OFHSA is a proud member of the Canadian Home and School Federation.

An independent organization, OFHSA gives a voice to those who actively support public education, at the school, district school board and provincial levels. OFHSA's policies speak to the education, health, safety and social well-being of children and youth. OFHSA is a provincial network of members providing support, training, resources and advice developed over a long history of involvement in public education.

šŸ“£ We Want to Hear from Parents and Families!

OFHSA is gathering feedback to share with the Ministry of Education about parents' and families' experiences in Ontario schools during the past school year.

Your voice matters. Whether your experiences have been positive, challenging, or somewhere in between, your input will help us better understand what families are experiencing and identify areas where support and improvements may be needed.

Please take a few minutes to complete our Parent Voice Survey:

šŸ”— https://forms.gle/kGBQcZosQr6ToYBR7

The survey is open to all parents, guardians, and caregivers. Responses will inform our feedback and advocacy efforts to the Ministry of Education on behalf of families across Ontario.

Thank you for helping ensure that parent voices are heard!

šŸ“£Association Spotlight!
This month is Stoneybrook HSA

We had a wild April 1st, and we were not fooling! We ran a successful Cake Day for students, handing out over 84 Silly Cakes. Each student and teacher was given 10 tickets to put into the draw, and we provided every student with a Cookie. After wrapping up Cake Day, the Home & School reorganized the gym, library, and two classrooms to set up for the first Spring Market. We had over 40 vendors, free face painting, free balloon twisting, a book sale/swap and a treasure hunt! Phew!

It was an amazing day for the Stoneybrook community!

tarting at a new high school is an exciting milestone—for both students and families. It’s also the perfect time to build a strong, connected school community.
A Home and School Association plays an important role in building and supporting student leadership. By joining early, you can help shape a welcoming, inclusive school culture and ensure parent voices are heard. Even a small group can make a big difference.

Members of a Home & School Association collaborate with the Principal and the Student Council to help bring their ideas to life—whether that’s supporting school spirit initiatives, funding, organizing activities, sharing ideas, making milestone events like prom memorable,
or simply staying informed, there is a place for you. Home & School Associations provide secure, monitored handling of funds, promote responsible money management, are provided with liability insurance, and ensure transparency and accountability.

Starting an association doesn’t require experience—just a willingness to be part of something, connect with new people, and collaborate toward a shared goal of creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
A Home and School Association brings parents, caregivers, and school staff together to support student success, enhance communication, and create meaningful opportunities for involvement.
If you’re interested in being part of something positive from the very beginning, we’d love to connect with you!
