Our last Undergrad Seminar of the semester will be on Monday March 27th at 4:30 pm in BSB 108. Join Dr. Rajchgot for a talk titled “Squaring the Circle”.

Abstract: Is it possible to construct a square with the same area as a given circle using only a straightedge and compass? The ancient Greeks posed this question. It is a consequence of the transcendence of $\pi$ that the answer is "no". I'll discuss this story, as well as relevant mathematical background.

In collaboration with the Math department we would like to invite you to the Britton Lecture Series.

Our guest speaker this year is Dr. Sunčica Čanić, Professor in the Department of Mathematics at UC Berkeley! Her lecture will be on “A Mathematical Approach to the Design of a Bioartifical Pancreas”. The lecture will be held on Monday April 3rd at 11:30 am in MDCL 1305.

Attention first year students!! The Math & Stats society will be hosting a MATH 1B03 review session on Wednesday March 22nd from 8-9:30 pm in PGCLL 124. This is a great resource to help prepare for your midterm!

Attention MATH 1MP3 students!! Due to scheduling confirm we will be hosting two review session for midterm 2.
- Thursday March 16th from 6:30-8:00 pm in Hamilton Hall 109
- Friday March 17th from 6-7:30 pm in Hamilton Hall room 109
Please note both sessions will be covering the same material/questions. This is a great study resource so be sure to attend!! Feel free to reach out with any questions.
