It is THAT time of the year! The MDS presidential election is approaching. On Wednesday, March 3rd, at 6:30 p.m. in our Discord Channel, the four candidates will each deliver a 5-minute speech about why they would make a good president. Voting will occur from March 8th to 12th on the SimplyVoting platform. Qualified voters will receive an invitation via email. Stay tuned for more information!

Hello everyone! It’s finally reading week 🥳🥳🥳! In the spirit of Valentine’s Day❤, we are hosting a 🤩CASE HELP SESSION 🤩followed by a 😎SOCIAL NIGHT😎 on Wednesday, February 17th! Our experienced execs will help you with preparing a strong and balanced motion for the up-coming CP tournaments. It would be a great learning opportunity even if you don’t have any tournaments planned yet. The rest of the evening will be a casual night for everyone to have fun and play games. We welcome everyone to join and make new friends 🥰🥰🥰!

A HUGE SHOUT-OUT to everyone who joined us for the McMaster Pro-Ams last weekend! This post may be a bit late 😬. But, we hope that you had an enjoyable tournament and was able to take some great memories away. Whether you’ve broke or not, you deserve a HUGE congratulation for just putting yourselves out there! Whether you were a judge or a debater, we were so grateful for your presence as the tournament couldn’t have been so successful without you!

We would like to congratulate Eric Zhao and Amalie Wilkinson for seizing the final trophy! Congratulations to Eric Zhao for being awarded the top speaker!

Last but not least, we would like to give our special thanks to Ethan Curry, Meehakk Mulani , Emily Xu, Phoung Nguyen, Angad Singh, Zack Hassan, Sarah Arsalan, Riaz Mahmud, Hashim Ridha, and a plethora of other people from the MDS and beyond! Without your dedicated work, the tournament could not have been possible.

On September 26-27th, our debaters Sarah, Nicole, Matthew, Murad and Yifan, as well as our judges Hashim and Amr participated in the Central Novice Debating Championships, an inter-varsity tournament organized by McGill. We would like to thank all our amazing debaters and judges for representing the MDS out there and give a HUGE congratulations to Matthew and Murad for breaking first to the no high school experience category!
