The theme of this conference is “Exploring Early Christianity” and is open to all students. The call for papers is open until November 25, 2026.

Join us on March 24, 2027 for a conference on “A Mind for the Truth, a Heart for the World: Exploring the Life and Theology of John Stott”, exploring the life, theology, ministry, writings, and enduring legacy of John Stott (1921–2011). The conference will bring together scholars, students, pastors, and others to explore Stott’s contributions to Scripture, theology, pastoral ministry, evangelism, the global church, and the Lausanne movement.

Call for papers is now open! Submit your proposal by December 15, 2026.

Meet Rick Carrol, Assistant Professor of Counselling and Spiritual Care! With 25 years of experience in pastoral ministry, including 21 years at Portico Community Church, Rick brings extensive pastoral and clinical experience to his role at MDC. He also founded the Portico Care Centre, providing integrated psychological, physical, and spiritual care to vulnerable community members.

This Fall, he’s teaching “Current Psychotherapies” which explores major approaches to counselling and psychotherapy, including psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive-behavioural, and experiential therapies.

Meet Ruth Baah-Gyebi, Assistant Professor of Counselling and Spiritual Care! With over 26 years of clinical experience across the UK, Europe, Canada, and Africa, Ruth brings extensive clinical expertise in traumatology, couples counselling, and spiritual care to her role at MDC.

This Fall, she’s teaching “Basic Counselling Skills & Interventions” and “Professional Ethics & Jurisprudence,” helping students develop foundational counselling skills and deepen their understanding of ethical care.
