At our Fun Fair last night, students got to meet Bernie R. Bird and a few players from the Hamilton Cardinals. Many received free tickets to attend a Hamilton Cardinals baseball game at Bernie Arbour Stadium over the weekend. If you鈥檝e never been to a Cardinal game, get ready for a great time!
This evening the Cardinals play against the Toronto Maple Leafs for Bark in the Park - first pitch at 7:35pm. Leashed dogs are welcome at this event. They get free treats at the gate, and some puppy pampering is available. On Sunday afternoon, the Cardinals play against the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers - first pitch at 2:05pm.
We are hoping to pack the stands with the Queensdale community for both games this weekend! Be sure to get there a little early to secure your seat and visit the concession stand. Players will be warming up from 6:30pm and are always happy to come and say hi! Students can head over to the gate closest to third base before the game to meet the team.
If you didn鈥檛 get tickets, they are available for purchase online and at the gate. Tickets are $12, and kids under 10 are FREE!
For more information and to get your tickets, please visit the Hamilton Cardinals website at https://www.iblcardinals.ca.

Come out this evening and join us for a lovely hour of music and good company.
Note this is an outdoor event. The weather says we will be dry, but be sure to dress warm 馃ザ 馃ザ

This lovely scrapbook was shared with us for the 75th anniversary, but there was no identification. We would love to get it back to the owner. If it is yours, please contact the school. Thank you!
Thank you to everyone who was able to come and celebrate with us last evening - we are so grateful to have met with so many wonderful people and to see people connecting with friends and former classmates. We hope that all who attended enjoyed themselves and the opportunity to reminisce as they toured the same halls they once took to class.
It was absolutely amazing to bring together Queensdale Royals from past and present, and to have that opportunity to learn and share the experiences of others here throughout the decades.
If you took pictures at the 75th Anniversary last night (or if you have some pictures of your time at Queensdale), please share them in the comments here!
Can鈥檛 wait for the 75th Anniversary Celebration tomorrow evening!
The event is from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. For some reason Facebook is showing this event in a different time zone - you may notice the event shows as 2:00 pm PST (which is 5:00pm here).
We aren鈥檛 sure WHY Facebook is doing this to us - we are EST!!

Caption: "HER FIRST CLASS When September comes and writes the close of summer, a new and important chapter opens in the life of a five-year-old child --- starting school!
With excitement, they look forward to the prospect of new friendships, new playmates, in fact, for them, a whole new way of life. Gerald Kainz, the Spectator staff photographer, captured some of this starry-eyed wonder in one little five-year-old, Brenda Arche who started kindergarten at Queensdale School.
Brenda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Arche, 92 Queensdale Avenue East."
Brenda and her mother headed to the entrance of Queensdale Public School.

The closure of the downbound lanes of the Claremont Access is having a direct effect on the community - especially with increased traffic along Inverness during rush-hour times.
Cllr John-Paul Danko is aware of increased traffic on Inverness and is monitoring for school safety. At this time there seems to be no issues.
As of this moment, city staff are unable to provide an end-date for the Claremont Access Closure. When more information is available, Cllr Danko鈥檚 office will continue to post notifications and articles in their weekly E-newsletter & on the Ward 8 Website.
Not familiar with this E-Newsletter? This is a great form of communication available to people that live in Ward 8. It鈥檚 emailed via Mail Chimp on Wednesday. It is a convenient way to keep in touch with City and Ward updates (including those around the Claremont Access).
If you live in Ward 8 and would like to sign up to receive the weekly E-Newsletter, you can do so by contacting the Ward 8 Office at: [email protected]
