Meet Mr. Mazin, our Grade 2 teacher at Waterdown Islamic School.

Mr. Mazin brings a strong mix of knowledge, care and leadership to the classroom. Fluent in both Arabic and English, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and has experience teaching in person and online across Arabic, Islamic Studies and Qur’an.

Beyond the classroom, he is passionate about youth mentorship and community leadership. From leading programs for young people to serving as a Khateeb in the Niagara Region, he brings that same sense of purpose, guidance and connection into his work with students at WIS.

We are grateful to have educators like Mr. Mazin who help students grow in confidence, character and learning.

With more than nine years of teaching experience in Jordan and Canada, Ms. Noura brings both knowledge and care to her role as WIS’s Arabic and Qur’an teacher.

Her background in early education with an Arabic specialization helps her support young learners as they build their language skills, strengthen their connection with the Qur’an and grow more confident in the classroom.

For Ms. Noura, teaching begins with connection. She works to build meaningful relationships with her students so they feel comfortable asking questions, participating and continuing to learn.

At WIS, qualifications matter, but so does the way a teacher makes a child feel known, supported and encouraged.
