CAMOUFLAGE PAINTING

The educators introduced the concept of camouflage and explained how animals use colours and patterns to blend into their surroundings. The children were shown toys of camouflaged animals and then given paper and bingo dabbers to create their own camouflage paintings. This engaging activity supported observation skills, creativity, fine motor development, language development, and early understanding of animals and their environments.

Our toddlers engaged in an activity where they made a fish aquarium. The activity started with a box that the children worked together to paint blue like the ocean. Once the box was dry the educators assisted the children to create paper fish that they then attached to the inside top of the box to complete the fish aquarium.

Language & Literacy : The educator read the story Mama Panya’s Pancakes and talked with the children about how Mama Panya prepared pancakes and invited friends to share them. Inspired by the story, the children created their own invitations for their friends using paper, glue, ribbons, and feathers. This engaging activity supported creativity, fine motor skills, communication, social development, and an understanding of friendship and sharing.

Toddler 2 went on a scavenger hunt for animals in the class. The children had a sheet with all the animals that they needed to find. Once they found an animal they made a check mark in the corresponding square on the sheet.
Our toddlers had a lot of fun with this activity, when they found an animal some of the childden even made the correct noise.

This morning Toddler 1 had a bin full of nature materials, the children helped the edcuator guess how many of each items were in the bin. Then as a class their will work together to count each group of materials, to find out the actual amount.
