Celebrating outstanding leadership and impact within McMaster University, up to two students will be recognized for their meaningful contributions to the university community.

🌍 Community Impact Award
This award highlights leadership and service beyond the university, recognizing students who have made a lasting difference in their communities.

💡 Innovation Award
Sponsored by the Michael G. DeGroote Health Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship Initiative, this award celebrates exceptional innovation and entrepreneurship in healthcare.

Happy International Women’s Day 💜

Today we’re highlighting some of the incredible women in iBioMed who are using engineering and innovation to improve healthcare.

Amber, Parina, Natalia, and Scarlett are part of an all-women team from IBEHS 3P04, a biomedical design course where students work in groups to tackle open-ended design challenges using design thinking, problem solving, systems analysis, and communication skills in real-world biomedical engineering contexts.

Their team is currently developing an IUD placement monitoring device, aimed at helping improve confidence and accuracy in placement. While still in the early stages, their project reflects the thoughtful innovation and collaboration happening across iBioMed.

Today and every day, we celebrate the women shaping the future of science, engineering, and healthcare.
