What do all these activities have in common? They intrigue the child and do wonders to develop hand-eye coordination and pincer hand muscles for future writing work.

Show and tell with a book from home

Ms Jen handmade these emotion bean bags for the "feeling bag" in our toddler classroom. Montessori classrooms should be spaces where children can express themselves whether they are happy, sad, afraid or any emotion from the entire spectrum. It's also a place where they learn to manage their emotions, and develop empathy for others.

Folding the classroom laundry with Ms Joan. Through folding, children unconsciously absorb shapes and their relationships in a way that prepares them for division, fractions, geometry and more.

We love our little helpers! Care of Environment is a key part of the method. It helps children develop a sense of responsibility, respect, and connection to the world.
