Friendly Fire Safety Reminder! Be sure
to evacuate the building QUICKLY if you hear the fire alarm
Fire alarm tests are scheduled and announced. If it hasn't
been announced, assume there is a fire. The speed of your
evacuation could make all the difference. The front desk will not be able to take calls to confirm that this is a “real fire”.

Today, to mark and honour the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, We encourage all Mohawk Residence Students, Residence Staff and Supporters of Students to take time to learn more about the TRC’s 94 Calls to Action.
The last Residential School closed their doors only less than three decades ago, meaning the inter-generational trauma from these colonial acts of cultural genocide are still vivid in the minds and memories of those who lost so much.
We recommit ourselves to ongoing allyship with indigenous partners and we will remember the lasting impact of IRSS, the survivors, families and communities.
Hamilton and the land in which Mohawk College is located, is situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which was an agreement between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabek to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We further acknowledge that this land is covered by the Between the Lakes Purchase, 1792, between the Crown and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation
We recognize and deeply appreciate this historic connection to this place. We also recognize the contributions Indigenous peoples have made in shaping and strengthening this community. We are grateful for the opportunity to live and work here and re-affirm our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of Truth and Reconciliation real in our community.
