St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Elementary School

T’was the day of joy and all through the school halls
Classes were cutting, pasting, and painting Christmas ornament balls
Laughter and singing came from both students and staff
Everyone had so much fun decorating, it was a gas!
Canvas stockings were adorned with markers and jewels
Providing more spirit and spark to our Christmas yule.
Strolling through the halls, familiar faces happily greeted all
From reindeer, to elves to candy cane children who appeared incredibly tall
The best part of the day was no homework was assigned
It was truly a time to enjoy and leave the academics behind.

Kindness is more important today than it has ever been. The isolation of the last few years has underlined how little acts of consideration can break down barriers, and brighten the lives of the people around us. Therefore, this week (Nov. 22 – 26, 2021) during Anti-Bullying Week, the St. Vincent de Paul school students took part in a bullying prevention initiative. The school community made the school’s playground a canvas of chalk art supporting kindness in the schools, and around the world. Positive messages of love, peace, hope and acceptance have been drawn all over the school yard, with the intention of bringing smiles to the faces that need it!
