Oakes Rd Little Acorn Academy Here at the Academy we believe in developing in our little acorn's mind, body and soul with specialized programming.

Oakes Rd Little Acorn Academy was founded by Filomena. A teacher for 11 years, I have spent most of my time in various classrooms working with children of all ages. Each time I went to a new place: excited for a new a beginning each place always fell short. Big class sizes, a curriculum that did not meet the children's needs (too hard or not not challenging enough), not getting the support for the children when it was needed, a routine that was too strict or no structure at all. Frustrated I finally decided to go on my own, build a school that combines both teacher led lessons as well as children led play to learn activities. Included in the program is a program called JollyPhonics; a fun way for children to learn their sounds and letters through song and actions. The program will also include Montessori materials and teachings led by a qualified Montessori teacher. Here at the Academy it is important not only to develop the mind but to immerse the child in various physical activities that include outdoor playtime, yoga and music and movement classes. Opening in January 2018, based out of my home I will guarantee smaller class sizes for more one on one time with your children. A unique program that will constantly evolve.
