Back to the Mat BJJ Back to the Mat BJJ offers kids and adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses on grappling and ground fighting.

BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller person will be able to successfully defend themselves against a larger opponent using proper techniques. These techniques include joint-locks and chokes. Back to the Mat BJJ is a family run club located in Chestermere, Alberta. Our goal is to train all our students to have self-confidence, self-control and have the ability to defend themselves if necessary. No experience is required!

We will be open Saturday for regular classes but closed Monday for Thanksgiving. We hope everyone has a great holiday!

There's Brazilian jiu jitsu in Chestermere?!
We get that a lot when talking to people. We may be tucked away in the Lakeside Golf Club but we have been here for over a decade. Come check us out and try a week for free.

Tots Class - 4 to 6 yrs
Kids' Class - 7 to 14 yrs
Adult Class - 15 and up

Not in shape or worried about lack of experience? Don't be! While we train hard, you can join just for fitness or to compete. It's a great mental and physical workout.
