Back to the Mat BJJ offers kids and adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses on grappling and ground fighting.
BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller person will be able to successfully defend themselves against a larger opponent using proper techniques. These techniques include joint-locks and chokes. Back to the Mat BJJ is a family run club located in Chestermere, Alberta. Our goal is to train all our students to have self-confidence, self-control and have the ability to defend themselves if necessary. No experience is required!

Starting September 1st, we are bringing back the Tots (ages 4-6) class!
Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 - 5:45. Space is limited.

Hello everyone,
and I are proud to have such an amazing support system in this difficult time. Unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control we are still closed with know information on when we are to open back up. We will keep you posted on any updates that we will hopefully receive. Back to the Mat has been part of this community and served it for over 10 years and we hope we can continue to serve it for many more.

Club Update: Things are finally moving along. Electrician, dry wall, all that fun stuff. Still no official date but it's getting closer!

Thank you to our awesome helpers (and all those who offered to help)! All the old mats and furniture are at the dump. We have a clean slate. Fingers crossed restoration of the walls and ceiling starts moving along.
