We hope everyone has had a wonderful first few days back at school! We’re excited for a great month ahead at Janet Johnstone.

September is already shaping up to be a busy one, with:
2 Healthy Hunger fun lunches
The Terry Fox Run
Orange Shirt Day for Truth and Reconciliation

And that’s just the beginning! Stay tuned for more information on these events and everything else happening throughout the next few months!

Thinking about joining Parent Council? Come see what we’re all about!

Parent Council is a great way to get involved in our school community, meet other parents, share your ideas, and help make a difference for our students - and it doesn’t have to be a huge commitment!

- You don’t have to attend every meeting
- Meetings are held once a month on Tuesday evenings
- We have lots of positions available with different levels of commitment
- You can help with specific events or projects without taking on a formal position
- No experience is necessary!
- Your ideas, input and creativity are always welcome
- And yes… we’re a lot of fun! 😂

Whether you have lots of time to give or can only pitch in occasionally, there’s a place for you. Every little bit helps create a stronger, more connected school community for our kids.

📅 Our first Parent Council meeting is Tuesday, September 15!

When you’re shopping for a new backpack this school year, don’t just choose the cutest one - choose one with enough room to grow!

A slightly larger backpack gives your child space for:
🥪Lunch kits and water bottles
📖Library books
👕Extra layers
📝Homework folders and projects
📎All of the little treasures that somehow make the trip home each day. 😉
