Did you know Rundle was the last student travel group to leave Kanazawa before tourism shut down during COVID-19, and the first to return afterward?
In February 2020, our College students found themselves at the centre of an historic moment. While on their exchange in Kanazawa, Japan, the country was beginning to shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Rundle became the last student travel group to leave the city before tourism closed.
More than three years later, in September 2023, Rundle returned to Kanazawa as the first student travel group to visit the city since the pandemic. To our surprise, local newspapers and television crews were waiting at the station to document the students' arrival.
After years of uncertainty, it was a special moment to return and be welcomed back to Kanazawa in such an unforgettable way.

Every year, the Rundle community comes together for Jersey Day. This special tradition is dedicated to honouring the memory of Mr. Bruce Buchanan, a long-time staff member we lost on June 2, 2017 after his battles with anxiety and depression.
As the founder of our rugby program and coach to multiple championship volleyball teams, Mr. Buchanan left a legacy that reaches far beyond athletics. He made a profound impact on generations of students and staff alike, and his retired #10 jersey still hangs proudly in the Conklin Main Gymnasium as a reminder of his dedication.
On this day, we wear our jerseys in memory of a beloved member of our community as we come together to spread mental health awareness Rundle-wide.

In 2016, Rundle opened the doors to the Collett building, a dedicated space designed to bring our K-6 College students onto the same campus as those in grades 7-12, uniting the K-12 journey.
Named after our co-founder, Dr. W.J. Collett, this school was built from the ground up by a dedicated community of parents, staff, and supporters.
A foundational piece of this journey was the generosity of Mr. Ron Mathison, whose leadership and support provided the vital foundation and momentum the project needed. He donated expert project management services to keep construction on track and served as the lead donor for the Collett playground, where our K-6 students' creativity and imagination thrive today. Without Mr. Mathison, we could not have accomplished this significant milestone in Rundle’s history.
From innovative community fundraising to the collective spirit of our families, the Collett building stands as a testament to what happens when a community unites around a shared purpose. Today, the names of the supporters who made this build possible are honoured on the donor wall, which is proudly displayed near the entrance.

Our Grade 11 and 12 Computer Science students recently presented their interactive learning games/software they designed through our partnership with Smart Technologies.
For over a month our students gained hands-on experience in coding, problem-solving, and software development while working alongside industry mentors. Their final presentations showcased creativity, innovation, and real-world learning in action.
Thank you to Smart Technologies and the Lumio team for helping provide this incredible opportunity for our students.

For 40 years, music has played a meaningful role in the Rundle experience. Our band program has given generations of students the opportunity to grow as musicians, performers, and leaders while creating memories that last a lifetime.
From performances at home in Calgary to stages across North America, including Nashville, Hawaii, New Orleans, New York, and Chicago, our Rundle bands have proudly shared their talent and spirit wherever they go.
This year, our students continued the tradition of musical excellence that has defined the program for decades. At the Calgary Performing Arts Festival, both our College Senior High Band and our College Grade 7 Beginner Band earned 1st place in their respective categories.
We are proud of the lasting legacy of our band program and of the countless students, staff, and families who have helped make music such an important part of our community.
