Since its inception in 1995, Rundle Academy has become a leader in differentiated education, transforming the lives of neurodiverse learners while steadily growing to meet increasing demand.
Nearly three decades later, it became clear that the Academy’s campus needed significant upgrades to support the program. And with demand far exceeding available placements, a new purpose-built space would also provide more students the opportunity to experience a Rundle education. After years of planning, design, and fundraising through the Rundle Building Futures Campaign, Rundle broke ground on Phase 1—the Academic Wing—in April 2025. The entire Rundle community celebrated this historic milestone!
In August 2026, the Academic Wing will open its doors, welcoming new and returning students into an innovative, collaborative, light-filled environment designed to inspire learning and connection.
In the coming years, the new Rundle Academy campus will welcome over 175 more students, extending the Academy’s impact to even more neurodiverse learners across Calgary. Though the spaces are new, the one thing that remains the same is the heart of the Academy: dedicated faculty, small class sizes, personalized learning plans, and unlocking students’ potential.
How fitting that the conclusion of Rundle’s 40th year opens the door to a bright future. This new chapter stands as both a celebration of our history and an investment in the generations of students still to come!
