🚨 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗡‼️

The Gambella Students’ Hub has received serious concerns regarding the reported non-payment of salaries to teachers serving at Tharpam Refugee Camp. According to the information brought to our attention, some teachers reportedly have not received their salaries for two months, while other teachers working in the same schools are reportedly being paid.

If this information is accurate, it cannot simply be ignored.

Teachers dedicate their time and energy to educating our children, and withholding their salaries without a clear, legitimate, and transparent explanation can place both teachers and students in a deeply difficult situation.

We therefore call upon the relevant government authorities, education officials, community leaders, and Nuer elders to urgently investigate this matter and establish the facts. If salaries are owed, the responsible authorities should take immediate steps to ensure that the affected teachers receive what they are entitled to.

We also call for a clear explanation regarding the reported difference in payment among teachers performing similar duties. No teacher should be treated unfairly because of their identity, community, or any other irrelevant factor.

Most importantly, our children must not become victims of an administrative or salary dispute. If teachers are forced to stop teaching because their legitimate concerns remain unresolved, the greatest cost will ultimately be paid by our children through interrupted education.

We urge all parties to resolve this matter peacefully, fairly, and transparently. The teachers’ concerns deserve to be heard, investigated, and addressed without intimidation or unnecessary delay.

Gambella Students’ Hub stands for fairness, accountability, equal treatment, and the protection of every student’s right to education.

We call for an immediate investigation and a timely resolution of this matter.
