THURSDAY NIGHT'S TALENTED PHOTOGRAPHER: Kien Le

Kien is a photographer with a love for music, lifestyle and documentary photography, as well as graphic design. In 2012, photography became an outlet from other work – today, it's his predominant medium, combining his love of graphic design and music. He is currently a third year photography major at ACAD.

Thank you all so much for coming out last night – the last couple months have been extremely busy for Kat and I, and for a while we were unsure if we could continue with Candlelight. Last night affirmed that we need to keep going; not just because we love doing it, but because you all seem to love it too.

Thank you so much to all our amazing donors and guests: Katrina and guests from Malform with their incredibly knowledgable talk, Kayla Crawford for exhibiting her beautiful illustrations, Fern & Frond Floral Design for the gorgeous arrangements, and Kien Le for capturing the event. Stay tuned for pictures, fun links, and info regarding future Candlelight events.

Also, shout out to Matthew Springer for sharing his first zine with us! You did a fantastic job and it made our night ✨

ANNOUNCING TONIGHT'S FLORIST: FERN & FROND!

Owner and Designer Chelsea Hogan studied Commercial Floristry and graduated with distinction from Olds College in 2005. When she married in 2012, she created the floral designs for her own special day – sparking her interest in wedding design. The following year, as her maternity leave came to an end, she decided it was the perfect time to launch her own floral business, Fern & Frond! Today, she operates Fern & Frond from her home studio here in Calgary. She can usually be found collaborating with other creatives, meeting with couples, or selling blooms at pop up shops around Calgary.

GET EXCITED FOLKS, Katrina of Malform is our guest speaker for the second Candlelight Press!

Katrina is an Editor for Malform, a small-run publication focused on a creative/critical conversation across mediums. Malform is a contributor based publication, well known in the Calgary zine community. Find their work in Shelf Life, or their pop up events around the city.
