My latest portrait, “Precious One” Oil on board: 18”x14”
It is hard to look around the world and see what is happening- have we gone mad?? This painting is a subtle glimpse of what we should be stopping to think about; I wanted a strong vivid color to grab the attention of the viewer, and I wanted the viewer to be able to look into her eyes.
At her left ear, it says in Arabic ‘beautiful young soul’ and to her right, up by her hair, it says (the feminine) precious, also in Arabic. I chose Arabic because it is a Semitic language.
We are trafficking children, abusing children, enslaving children, bombing and killing children, and it’s happening worldwide, in (almost) every country. Children are the most precious things we have in this world, and what have we done… it’s heartbreaking, tragic and appalling . We’ve all gone mad💔.
