New Beginner Swedish Class (Ages 7–14) – Fall 2026

The Swedish School of Calgary is launching a new beginner class for children aged 7–14 with little or no prior Swedish knowledge—while still maintaining a connection to the Swedish language and community.

🗓 Saturdays, 10:00–12:00 (starting September 2026)
👦 For students in Grade 2+ (reading/writing skills recommended)

This class is designed for families who:
✔️ Have a Swedish connection (heritage, family, or background)
✔️ Want their children to build Swedish language skills from the ground up
✔️ Can provide some support at home (a Swedish speaking parent/relative is strongly recommended)

Students will explore:
✨ Basic Swedish language skills
✨ Reading & writing
✨ Songs, games, and culture

This is a great entry point for children with Swedish roots who are just beginning their language journey.

Lärare sökes till Svenska Skolan!

Vi söker engagerade och entusiastiska svensktalande lärare, vikarier, och assistenter till vårt team på Svenska Skolan i Calgary! Undervisningen sker på lördagsmorgnar kl. 10–12 från mitten av september 2026 till maj 2027.

Just nu söker vi särskilt:

- Förskollärare som älskar att arbeta med barn i åldrarna 3–6 år
- Lärare till äldre barn och andra årskurser – vi välkomnar kandidater som är öppna för att undervisa olika nivåer

Ingen lärarutbildning krävs, men du måste kunna tala flytande svenska eftersom undervisningen sker helt på svenska.
Arbetsdelning är möjligt – vi söker även vikarier (subs) and assistants

Teachers Wanted at the Swedish School!

We’re looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Swedish-speaking teachers, subs and assistants to join our team at the Swedish School in Calgary! Classes are held Saturday mornings from 10am–12pm, running from mid-September 2026 through May 2027.
We are currently looking for:

- Preschool teachers who love working with children aged 3–6
- Applicants interested in older grade levels (ages 7-13)

No teaching degree required, but fluency in Swedish is essential as classes are taught entirely in Swedish.
Shared teaching, substitute, and assistant roles are all possible.
