🐝 CHAMPIONS OF THE BEE! 🐝
Last Monday, May 25, we hosted our first-ever Spelling Bee, and it was a spectacular showcase of focus, memory, and multilingual mastery! ✨
Our brilliant spellers tackled challenging words from Latin, Spanish, French, and Italian origins. From silent syllables to tricky accents, they proved that language knows no borders! 🌍

Our second annual 'The Stage Is Yours' (Speech Competition) event took place this past Tuesday, May 12 at the school gymnasium, and what an inspiring experience it was! Over the past several weeks, students dedicated themselves to researching, writing, refining, and presenting their work through three rounds of competition. This year’s theme, Reflecting on the Names of Allah, challenged students not only to strengthen their public speaking skills, but also to deepen their understanding of their faith and relationship with Allah (SWT). We are incredibly proud of every student who participated and grateful to our teachers, staff, judges, and families for supporting this journey. We sincerely appreciate the presence of Br. Abdulrahman Abbas', the Society Chairman, during our event and a big shout out to Mrs. Samari for championing this event along with our amazing English language teachers. We are delighted to share that one of our former Grade 8T students, Hanan Itani, has memorized the Holy Quran. The OBK school community extends its heartfelt congratulations on this remarkable achievement.

Hanan has now moved to another country and is currently in Grade 9; however, she stayed connected with her Tahfeeth instructors and, under their online guidance, completed her memorization.

We also commend her parents and teachers for their support and dedication. May this accomplishment inspire others and bring blessings to all involved. Aameen

We are very proud to share that ALL our nine participating projects in the citywide science fair that took place this past Friday, April 10 at the University of Calgary won prizes:

- Two Gold Medals and Special Awards: Hawwa Fahmi (Gr. 6) and Usman Arain (Gr. 6)

- One silver Medal: Hamza & Hasan Metwaly, Gr. 7

- Three Bronze Medals: Soulaima Ben Hamid & Ranim Berkane (Gr. 6), Nouran Tatari (Gr.8, and Sarah Abdulmalik & Maryam Taha (Gr. 9)

- Three Hounorable Mentions: Omera Uddin (Gr.6), Asmaa Elsharqawy & Jaweriya Siddiqui (Gr.7), and Muhammad Hasan Sandhu (Gr.8.
