Today is World Lindy Hop Day, aka the birthday of legendary Lindy Hopper Frankie Manning! To Celebrate we are offering a low cost Shim Sham class tonight from 8-9PM with Taylor Marcus.

The Shim Sham is one of the most iconic solo jazz routines in the swing dance world. Originally created as a tap routine in the late 1920s, it later became a favourite in the Lindy Hop community thanks to Frankie Manning adapting and sharing the routine in the ‘80s! This routine is popular and is done at most swing dance socials & events world wide!

All levels are welcome- this is a beginner friendly routine!

We will have music playing for you to dance and explore movements with others. Note that this is not a class but moreso a space to collaborate and learn together through shared experiences!

Everyone is welcome to drop in and join no matter your level or if you take classes with us or not. Come meet other dancers and get inspired by one another!

These practices have a pay-what-you-can model, with a suggested donation of $5 to go towards the rental. Those who are able are welcome to give a little extra to support the space and community, but please don’t let cost stop you from coming.

No partner or experience needed, this is a beginner friendly class open to all! Learn the basic steps, connection, and moves that come along with this dance.

Foundations+ to Lindy Hop ($89/6 Weeks)
Tuesdays April 28th - June 2nd @6-7PM
This class is suitable for anyone who feels confident with the 6 & 8 count basics and wants to work on improving their connection, rhythm, while learning new fun shapes and moves to add to their repertoire!

Not sure if the class is right for you? You are welcome to drop-in to classes on April 28th for the first week of classes. You’re welcome to show up and pay at the door and decide to commit to the series after.
