Last night, Literacy Specialist Susanne D. hosted an engaging parent workshop for families, all about turning home into a haven for early literacy development. With a treasure trove of tips and resources, parents discovered how to make reading fun and engaging for their little ones. The Rising Readers Program, supported by the Rotary Club of Calgary North and Rotary Club of Downtown, is making a real difference in our community! Rotary Club of Calgary North.
A HUGE thank you goes out to Program Director Paula R. and her team at our Lumino center for hosting this event, providing childcare and dinner for our families!

This past weekend two of our educators from Haysboro's Flight Core Team shared our program's ongoing Flight journey at the "Pedagogical Partner Showcase of Learning" in Edmonton. Krista and Christy presented and shared about Reflective Practice, Communities of Learning, and documentation like our group Floor Books.
We are so proud of you for embracing the challenge!
And of course, thank you to our wonderful PP Shannon Stewart.

🌟 Educator Spotlight: Meet Aradhana! 🌟
We’re proud to shine this month's spotlight on Aradhana, one of our amazing Day Home educators who has been nurturing and supporting children since 2014.
Aradhana’s passion for caring for kids with special needs—like cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome—truly sets her apart. With 17 years of experience as a physiotherapist, she brings unique knowledge and compassion to her Day Home, creating a safe, welcoming space where every child feels secure and valued.
Her dedication goes beyond childcare. Aradhana works closely with families, sharing her expertise and building trusting relationships that help children thrive socially, emotionally, and physically. Whether it’s gathering leaves for crafts or encouraging kids to explore the outdoors, she makes learning fun and meaningful.
For Aradhana, Day Home is more than a job—it’s a calling. She’s grateful for the support of her husband and the agency, which empowers her to keep growing and providing exceptional care every day.
Thank you, Aradhana, for your unwavering commitment, kindness, and the positive impact you make on so many lives! đź’™

As the darkness grows longer and the days grow shorter, we choose to connect and celebrate together. We share who we are and what we love with one another. We choose to see the beauty in our differences and to celebrate them. When we honour these differences, we show children that connection lives in the spaces in between.
"From the vibrant colours and fireworks of Diwali, the Hindu festival celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, to the warm glow of the Hanukkah menorah, where each candle is a symbol of perseverance and faith. From the delicate floating lanterns of Loy Krathong in Thailand, released onto rivers as acts of letting go and inviting renewal, to the twinkling festive lights of Eid, illuminating streets and homes with joy and gratitude, each of these celebrations of light speaks to the same truth: In the darkness, we can create our own light to illuminate our path."
