On Sunday, we celebrated the winners of the 2026 RC3 Rotary Calgary Concerto Competition at the Calgary Civic Symphony Rising Stars concert! 🎶

Congratulations to Dallevin Lapaire (piano), Bowen Li (violin), Sophie Ryskin (viola), and Josephine Wen (violin), who performed alongside conductor Rolf Bertsch in a stunning showcase of emerging talent.

Since 2018, our club has proudly supported young musicians under 18 by giving them the opportunity to perform, receive expert feedback, and for the top performers, play with a live symphony orchestra. Calgary is lucky to have such incredible young talent.

Closing Rotary Youth Service Month With a Story Worth Celebrating
May is Rotary Youth Service Month and we couldn't think of a better way to close it than by sharing what one donation can do.
In 2025, the Rotary Club of Calgary – Downtown donated $15,000 to Momentum Calgary's Matched Savings for Youth program. This year, the impact has been remarkable:
🔹46 young Calgarians enrolled 🎓 43 graduated 💸 $20,000 saved by youth, matched with over $80,000. Average monthly savings increased by 428% , 112 productive assets purchased , from textbooks and tuition to tools for work.
These are real young people in Calgary, students, future professionals, and community builders , who this year gained the skills and confidence to pursue the futures they deserve.

Thirty years ago, Rotarian Carl Smith had a simple but powerful belief: that every student deserves a fair chance to succeed.
That belief became the Stay-In-School program and it has never stopped growing.
Today, we are proud to bring the community together once again for the Rotary Stay-In-School Charity Golf Classic. A day on the course means so much more than a round of golf, it means a student gets to walk across a graduation stage, pursue a post-secondary dream, and build a future they once thought was out of reach.
