A Song of Bucephallus
By Aidan Morgan, Regina Fringe Reviewer
How far can you stretch a drunken party joke about a miscommunication between the two halves of a two-person horse costume (or TPHC, as the industry jargon goes)? If you're Calgary's Red Phone Theatre, the answer is: farther than you could possibly imagine. James Ward and Jeremy Park play Bucephalus, the mighty and faithful horse belonging to Alexander the Great (Ryan Reese), but an embarrassing mistake nearly derails the production... until they resolve to carry on and do justice to the great Bucephalus. To give away the joke at the heart of the play would spoil some of the fun, but it's safe to say that this is the kind of humour that will appeal to greying adults and eight year-olds alike.
