21 tablets. Countless conversations waiting to happen!

Huge thanks to the Electronic Recycling Association and YYC Calgary International Airport for this donation. These devices will support Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for children with diverse needs, and help strengthen the connection between educators and families.

This is what community partnership looks like: giving technology a second life while opening up new ways for kids to be heard.

We're proud to announce that the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), in partnership with YYC Calgary International Airport, has donated 21 tablets to Pacekids Programs in Calgary.

These tablets will help children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), while also strengthening communication between educators and families.

A huge thank you to YYC for helping give technology a second life and making a meaningful difference in our community.

Together, we're reducing e-waste, supporting local charities, and creating more opportunities through technology.

Are you looking for some fun and easy summer activities for sensory exploration and creativity?! Then look no further! πŸ˜€β›±οΈπŸ₯³

Our wonderful Sunridge staff member Carleen is sharing a summer beach-themed sensory bin activity πŸ–οΈπŸ€©

You will need:
- A sensory bin or any plastic bin
- Clean play sand. You can use any type of sand
- toy buckets
- Shovels or scoops or spoons
- Seashells
- Large beach toy animal toys, such as turtles, crabs, dolphins, or starfish
- Any favourite items you would like to include

Instructions:
1. Fill the bin with play sand.
2. Add buckets, sea shells, shovels, sea animals, and any favourite items that you might enjoy on a beach day. Some toys can even be buried in the sand for beach-themed hide-and-seek adventure!
3. Kids can scoop and pour, fill buckets, build sand castles, search for hidden treasures, and create their own beach adventures!

If someone prefers not to touch the sand, they can explore using shovels, scoops, cups, spoons or other tools.

You can also add rocks, tiny umbrella πŸ–οΈ, or large blue glass gems to create more opportunities for discovery.

Please supervise children when they explore using small tools, toys, or gems.

Let us know how you enjoyed this sensory bin with your kiddos! Share in the comments below! πŸ₯³πŸ€©
