Yesterday, we welcomed high school students from Wolf Creek Public Schools to our downtown Cyber Range and Digital Youth Studio for a day of hands-on cybersecurity learning. 🔐

From strengthening password protection to putting their skills to the test by trying to break into an account, students explored the tools and knowledge needed to stay safe online and pursue careers in cybersecurity.

Calling all future chefs!

We are excited to announce a very cool opportunity for high school students interested in the culinary arts! 🍳 🍰

SAIT's School of Hospitality & Tourism and the The Calgary Stampede are teaming up to host the Inaugural Youth Agri‑Food Culinary Challenge, taking place on June 13 & 14, 2026 at SAIT.

The Youth Agri-Food Culinary Challenge is a two-day competition designed for students in grades 10–12 to gain hands-on skills in an immersive team environment, all while exploring sustainability, local food culture, and Alberta's vibrant agri-food scene.

Joined by Canada Beef and SAIT's own SAIT Beekeeping Club, students will learn from industry leaders and compete for $20,000 in cash prizes, with the winning team continuing on to a showcase during the 10-days of the Calgary Stampede.

There is no cost to participate and no prior culinary skills are needed.

Exploring Energy Day ⚡

An annual favourite! High school students joined us on main campus for an immersive day exploring the world of energy. In collaboration with the McPhail School of Energy, students engaged in hands-on learning while discovering energy career pathways and educational opportunities shaping the future.🌍

From learning the basics of solar panels, to exploring VR applications for integrated water management, to touring SAIT’s Green Building Technologies facility, students experienced energy innovation in action.

Yesterday, April 28, SAIT Youth Initiatives hosted its annual Exploring Aviation Day event in collaboration with the Art Smith Aero Centre team. Junior high students from different Calgary and area school boards spent the day discovering the exciting world of aviation through hands-on learning at SAIT's aviation campus! 🚀

With engaging sessions led by expert instructors, students explored aviation career pathways, educational routes, and future possibilities in the industry.

The SAIT Foundations in Culinary Trades program continues to inspire the next generation of chefs by giving high school students a hands-on introduction to the world of culinary arts. Throughout the program, students built essential kitchen skills, explored food fundamentals, and gained confidence working in a professional learning environment. We recently marked the end of the program with a wrap-up celebration at the Tastemarket, where students proudly showcased their culinary creations. Parents, family members, teachers, and school supporters joined us to sample the dishes and celebrate the students’ hard work and growth. The event was a true reflection of how far the students had come - demonstrating not only technical skills, but creativity, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishments. The celebration highlighted the impact of exploratory learning in helping students explore future pathways. We’re incredibly proud of our Foundations in Culinary students and grateful to everyone who joined us in recognizing their achievements. #HereatSAIT #SAIT
