Amanda’s Story

Amanda Moffatt is a Certified Health Coach, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor through ACE (American Council on Exercise). She was born in Whitehorse, Yukon and made Dawson her home in 2005. Amanda has had the incredible experience of coaching clients part-time in the Dawson area and online since 2010, and in Sept 2018 began teaching low-impact cardio & resistance training classes to the 55+ population as well as for the public.

As someone who has faced depression & weight challenges throughout her life, Amanda has learned that self-care and self-love are very important and that a person cannot continue to give to others if they are not taking care of their own physical and mental health. She believes that being healthy is more than the number on your scale or size on your clothes, and that a holistic and long-term approach is necessary to make lasting changes. Amanda is committed to providing gentle accountability and consistent, tailored support to her clients.

Recently Amanda has faced many changes in her personal life, and understands how difficult it can be to find time and energy to give yourself the love and care you truly need. In addition to the passing of two beloved fur-babies (love to you Molly & Jameson….and to your previously deceased brother Nuisance), she has recently separated from her partner of 17 years. This resulted in a move and complete change of living, and she now finds herself living with 9 other adults – practicing patience and love is at an all time high! Juggling a full-time day job in Finance & HR with her wellness business, she knows that it is necessary to figure out what exactly self-care means to each individual, and that the ways of implementing time for themselves and lowering stress will be unique to each person.
