All new ad posts appeared today on my site. None of the prrsonal ones I usually see from those I follow. Anyone else experience this? Is this a sign of a hack..?

The Hillhurst Elderhood group continues on the 2nd Tuesday of each month 7-9 pm. Come by for discussions related to positive aging. Hillhurst United Church in Kensington

Word Fest is on until Oct 23. I have attended sessions with Beverley McLachlan, former Chief Justice - wonderful example of Aging with dignity, grace and ease; Indigenous Voices; and Canadiana so far. I love the panel discussions with the authors.

Another month is ending and "summer" is upon us. I can't recall Calgary being greener. Now for some heat.

The second annual THIRD ACTion Film Festival has passed successfully. Many aspects of aging were viewed. The Resiliency Award provided by the Brenda Strafford Foundation went to the video "Lines of Sight" where the main character came through many challenges before he created his own painting style called Lineillusion. The 30 year classic Driving Miss Daisy added a nice touch to the weekend.

On Tuesday, June 25, I attended an amazing event called "Death Over Dinner." We were lead through a process of sharing our thoughts on death, toasting an individual who has passed and made an impact, on our lives, meeting seven fabulous women not afraid of this sensitive topic, sharing our legacy and how we wish to be remembered at our funeral and much more. We declared our table "the best," ( in our own minds) had our photo taken and exchanged emails.

In keeping with the reality of death, our family will say their final goodbyes at Mom's Inurnment on July 6. I have 12 siblings ages 55-72 who will gather for this event.

My fabulous twin grandchildren, Isabelle and James will be 7 months old on July 6. What a gift of love and joy they have brought to our lives.

I keep getting reminders to share somethong on this page so here goes.
Had an amazing seminar with Frank Ostaseski on Friday. He wrote the book The Five Invitations about living life fully so death doesn't seem so ominous. What a presence he was for almost 3 hours.

The elder group I joined at Hillhurst United has now met twice. I opted to lead on May 14 related to discovering one's purpose at this stage of life. I will offer something similar to the retired teacher's conference on April 27.

My left arm is 3 weeks into healing now and quite inconvenient. The biggest regret is not being able to pick up our 4 month old grandchildren. I do go and hang out with them though an I am grateful for that.

I hope all are well and enjoying Spring.

**That has been my main activity along with spending time with baby twin grandchildren Isabelle and James who are now 3 months old.

***I have joined a discussion group on Aging at Hillhurst United in Calgary. We meet again April 2. It promises to be an engaging discussion.

****I will offer a 3 week movie study at Wild Rose United May 1, 8, 15 in the evening. Contact them to register.

*****We are looking forward to a trip to Branson MO the last two weeks in May. We have been there several times and really enjoy the variety of music.

Hopefully Spring has arrived. It has been a cold winter with lots of time to read, reflect, listen to summits, and visit with friends and babies.

Pre-viewing of videos for the next THIRD ACTion Film Fest in Calgary in June 2019 is underway. Interesting submissions so far. A favorite is called "Insurgent Grandpas" related to tax accounting of a Bingo group. I played Bingo with my mother for the last five years before she passed on Nov 9 so I feel I have some stake in this video.

One of the highlights this Fall was the Sage-ing International conference Oct 25-28 in Chaska MN.
The theme was "Elder Voices Transforming the World: Our Stories in Action."

THIRD ACTion Film Festival THIRD ACTion Film Festival - Celebrating and Exploring the THIRD ACT of Life.

The venue change for CCAN or "Calgary Conscious Aging Network" is Trinity Lodge on Glenmore Trail near Elbow Drive.

13 enthusiastic participants gathered for my presentation "Images of Wise Women in Film" where we explored whether these wonderful female actresses were just playing wise women or are they wise women with something to share from their own lives.

Participants read from personal quotes of 26 actresses who definitely displayed conscious aging wisdom worth sharing.
Three residents of the Lodge attended as well. One of our original intentions of CCAN was to do some outreach to the community so this was a great start.

I am currently working on a committee for the premiere of "Third ACTion Film Fest" which will be held June 8-10, 2018. Mark your calendars for this upcoming event and check out the website by the same name.
