BigRock Aikikai BigRock Aikikai is a non-profit organization, incorporated in the province of Alberta. We are led by chief instructor Steve Erickson, 6th Dan.

Our volunteer instructors have been committed to teaching traditional Aikido to all ages since 1998.

Thinking about how fun our Older Day Camp was a few weeks ago! This camp truly was one for the books! ALL of our students were so engaged and hard working, they never gave up, they never quit all of the difficult exercises and technique practice we threw at them. Thank you to all of our students who made this event so fun and inclusive for each other!

Thank you to the teachers who made this event possible and continued to keep the energy hype and activities silly!

Looking forward to next year’s camp already!!!

Congratulations Lauryn for 5000 hours of aikido practice!!! Lauryn, your commitment to your aikido community is astonishing, especially at such a young age! Thank you for giving so much of your time to help teach and lead at the main dojo, organize special events, constantly be down to uke for literally anyone who asks, show up for your friends every practice, curate a dojo culture that celebrates kindness, dedication, strong aikido technique, & joy, AND run the Cardel program! Thank you for being you, and we can’t wait to see what you do for the next 5000 hours lol
