Have you ever wondered how some people can listen to a tune and re-play it without any written music, or know what to play when they are jamming with other musicians?
You might have tried to re-create the melody you hear by trial and error.
Some of you might have learned your instrument by reading notes one by one and trying to find the right keys or finger positions as if solving puzzles.
Written notes might look like random dots that don't evoke any feelings for you.
If any of this resonates with you, whether you're a total beginner or have been trained for years, this session will be the perfect start of your new journey of speaking the language of music with or without sheet music!
There will be two levels of sessions. All instruments welcome.
- Beginner level: pitch matching, intro to 'solfege', beat & rhythm and tonal gravity.
- Intermediate level: auditory memory retention, solfege, scale notes & chords recognition.
I would recommend everyone join the beginner level if you are not able to play by ear at the level you like. If you are eager or have more than a year of musical training, you will benefit from joining the intermediate level as well.
Hope to see you there!
