MAKE FITNESS A PART OF YOUR HEALING JOURNEY AT IRON BULL FITNESS

04/18/2026

Iron Bull Fitness & Health Tip of the Day
“Train hard—but recover harder.”

It’s easy to focus on lifting heavier or pushing faster, but real progress happens after the workout. If you’re not recovering properly, you’re leaving gains on the table.

Today’s Focus: Recovery = Results
Sleep: Aim for 7–9 hours. That’s when muscle repair and hormone balance happen.

Hydration: Drink water consistently—performance drops fast when you’re even slightly dehydrated.

Active Recovery: Light movement (walking, stretching, mobility work) helps reduce soreness and keeps you ready for the next session.

Fuel Up: Get protein + carbs post-workout to rebuild and refuel.

Quick Challenge 🔥
Tonight, commit to:
No screens 30 min before bed
Drink 1 extra bottle of water
5–10 minutes of stretching
Reminder: You don’t grow in the gym—you grow when you recover from it. 💪🏽

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a personal message about living with an Acquired Brain Injury and the struggles of trying to live a balanced life while carrying trauma.

On June 18, 2000, my life changed forever. The poor choices I made, mixed with alcohol and drugs, led to an accident that altered the course of my life.

I had to relearn how to read and write, walk and talk. There were many days when I wondered if I would spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair, or if I would ever be able to hold and care for my children again. Those thoughts ran through my mind constantly.

I am forever thankful for my older brother who never gave up on me. He pushed me when I felt like quitting. He tied my laces, helped me get dressed, smudged me, and prayed for me. I remember seeing him cry at times while telling me not to give up.

After 18 months of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, I slowly began to regain my sensory, cognitive, and motor skills. Step by step, I began rebuilding my life and eventually found my way back to work.

But my journey didn’t stop there.

I made the decision to go back to school and university to become a personal trainer. My goal was simple — to help others who may be struggling with their own battles, whether that’s addiction, trauma, mental health, or simply not knowing where to start on their wellness journey.

Today, I am proud to be doing what I love through my work at 7Chiefs Fitness and my business, Iron Bull Fitness & Wellness. Fitness became more than just lifting weights for me — it became healing, purpose, and a way to give back to the community. Every person who walks through the doors looking for guidance reminds me why I never gave up.

I am also incredibly grateful to share my life with an amazing woman with a heart of gold who I proudly call my wife. Together we support one another, grow together, and continue to build a life centered on balance, purpose, and helping others.

My journey taught me that setbacks do not define who you are. Your past does not determine your future.

What defines you is the choice you make to get up again… even when life knocks you down.

So to anyone out there who is struggling right now — with addiction, trauma, self-doubt, or feeling like life has beaten you down — I want you to know something:

Your story is not over.

You are stronger than you think. You are capable of change. You are capable of healing.

If a man who had to relearn how to walk, talk, read, and write can rebuild his life and find purpose again… then so can you.

Keep going.Keep fighting, and never give up on yourself.

Your comeback story is still being written.

Fitness, Healing, and Strength in Our Communities.

Fitness Vlog #1

Tansi, good morning family and friends. ☕️💪🏽
Over the years working in the fitness world, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many incredible people who walk through the gym doors for different reasons. Some come to build muscle, some want to lose weight, and others simply want to feel better about themselves. But what many people don’t realize is that fitness is about much more than just lifting weights or doing cardio.

Fitness is deeply connected to our mental health, emotional healing, and personal growth.

Working at 7Chiefs Fitness and as the owner of Iron Bull Fitness & Wellness, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful movement can be in changing someone’s life.

Many people in our Indigenous and non-indigenous communities carry heavy burdens. Generational trauma, stress, addiction, loss, and life struggles are realities that many of us have faced or continue to face. Sometimes those struggles can make people feel stuck, alone, or unsure of where to begin again.

That’s where fitness can become something much bigger than exercise.

The gym can be a place of healing, rebuilding, and rediscovering your strength.

I’ve had the honour of helping individuals start their fitness journey when they felt like they were at their lowest point. Some people walk in with anxiety. Some are battling addiction. Others simply want a positive place where they feel welcomed and supported.

The most powerful moment is not when someone lifts their heaviest weight.

The most powerful moment is when someone realizes they are stronger than they believed.

Fitness teaches discipline, patience, and resilience. It teaches you that progress doesn’t happen overnight, but with consistency and effort, you begin to see change—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

For many beginners, the hardest part is simply walking through the door for the first time.

People often say things like:
“I’m not in shape yet.”
“I don’t know where to start.”
“I feel intimidated.”

But the truth is, every single person in the gym started somewhere.

Nobody begins their journey already strong or confident. That comes with time, guidance, and support. That’s why creating a positive and welcoming environment is so important.

At 7Chiefs Fitness, we believe the gym should feel like a community. A place where people lift each other up, encourage one another, and celebrate progress—big or small.

When someone improves their health, it doesn’t just impact them as an individual. It impacts their families, their children, and their community.
Health is contagious in the best way possible.
When someone chooses to work on themselves, others around them start to feel inspired to do the same.

For those who may be struggling with addiction or difficult life challenges, fitness can also become an outlet. Instead of carrying that stress alone, physical activity gives the body a healthy way to release tension and refocus energy.
Every workout becomes a small victory.
Every drop of sweat becomes a step forward.
And every time someone chooses to show up for themselves, they are building a stronger future.

To anyone reading this who may be thinking about starting their fitness journey, my message is simple:
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to start.
One workout at a time.
One day at a time.
One step at a time.

Your journey is your own, and progress will look different for everyone.

But you are never alone.

Here at 7Chiefs Fitness and Iron Bull Fitness & Wellness, our goal is to help guide people, support them, and remind them that their health and well-being truly matter.

Together we can build stronger bodies, stronger minds, and stronger communities.
Stay positive, stay strong, and keep moving forward.💪🏽🏋️‍♂️

Miyo-kiskunsihk, Dzīnísī Gújā — good day to everyone.
I just want to share this from the heart 🤍
If you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or carrying the weight of life in silence—please know you’re not alone. Wellness isn’t just physical; it’s mental, emotional, and spiritual too. Some days surviving is strength.

Please, reach out. Talk to someone you trust. Ask for support. Even the strongest warriors need community. Healing happens when we allow ourselves to be seen.
You matter. Your life matters. And there is always someone willing to listen. 🦬✨
