Fitness, Healing, and Strength in Our Communities.
Fitness Vlog #1
Tansi, good morning family and friends. ☕️💪🏽
Over the years working in the fitness world, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many incredible people who walk through the gym doors for different reasons. Some come to build muscle, some want to lose weight, and others simply want to feel better about themselves. But what many people don’t realize is that fitness is about much more than just lifting weights or doing cardio.
Fitness is deeply connected to our mental health, emotional healing, and personal growth.
Working at 7Chiefs Fitness and as the owner of Iron Bull Fitness & Wellness, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful movement can be in changing someone’s life.
Many people in our Indigenous and non-indigenous communities carry heavy burdens. Generational trauma, stress, addiction, loss, and life struggles are realities that many of us have faced or continue to face. Sometimes those struggles can make people feel stuck, alone, or unsure of where to begin again.
That’s where fitness can become something much bigger than exercise.
The gym can be a place of healing, rebuilding, and rediscovering your strength.
I’ve had the honour of helping individuals start their fitness journey when they felt like they were at their lowest point. Some people walk in with anxiety. Some are battling addiction. Others simply want a positive place where they feel welcomed and supported.
The most powerful moment is not when someone lifts their heaviest weight.
The most powerful moment is when someone realizes they are stronger than they believed.
Fitness teaches discipline, patience, and resilience. It teaches you that progress doesn’t happen overnight, but with consistency and effort, you begin to see change—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
For many beginners, the hardest part is simply walking through the door for the first time.
People often say things like:
“I’m not in shape yet.”
“I don’t know where to start.”
“I feel intimidated.”
But the truth is, every single person in the gym started somewhere.
Nobody begins their journey already strong or confident. That comes with time, guidance, and support. That’s why creating a positive and welcoming environment is so important.
At 7Chiefs Fitness, we believe the gym should feel like a community. A place where people lift each other up, encourage one another, and celebrate progress—big or small.
When someone improves their health, it doesn’t just impact them as an individual. It impacts their families, their children, and their community.
Health is contagious in the best way possible.
When someone chooses to work on themselves, others around them start to feel inspired to do the same.
For those who may be struggling with addiction or difficult life challenges, fitness can also become an outlet. Instead of carrying that stress alone, physical activity gives the body a healthy way to release tension and refocus energy.
Every workout becomes a small victory.
Every drop of sweat becomes a step forward.
And every time someone chooses to show up for themselves, they are building a stronger future.
To anyone reading this who may be thinking about starting their fitness journey, my message is simple:
You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to start.
One workout at a time.
One day at a time.
One step at a time.
Your journey is your own, and progress will look different for everyone.
But you are never alone.
Here at 7Chiefs Fitness and Iron Bull Fitness & Wellness, our goal is to help guide people, support them, and remind them that their health and well-being truly matter.
Together we can build stronger bodies, stronger minds, and stronger communities.
Stay positive, stay strong, and keep moving forward.💪🏽🏋️♂️
