Friday the 13th is not what youâve been taught!
In mainstream culture, Friday the 13th is often shrouded in superstition, called âunlucky,â whispered about with fear. But the truth is: this day was once revered. Before the rise of patriarchal systems, this day was a sacred day of the Goddess, a celebration of divine feminine power, creativity and magic!
âď¸In many ancient and spiritual traditions, Friday the 13th was considered a powerful and sacred day to honour the Divine Feminine, a time when the veils between seen and unseen were thin, and feminine wisdom flowed freely.
âď¸Friday is named after Freyja, the Norse goddess of love, fertility, sensuality, and war. A fierce and WILD embodiment of feminine sovereignty, Freyja was a keeper of beauty, passion, and magic. Her day was revered as a time to honour women, intuition and the spiral of lifeâs cycles.
âď¸The number 13 is not a curse, it is a sacred number of the moon and the womb. There are 13 lunar cycles in a year, each mirroring the tides of our blood, our emotions, our intuitive knowing. For many cultures, 13 was a holy number, tied to the rhythms of women, the Earth, and the cosmos.
So what happened?
As patriarchal systems took hold, the feminine was feared, and so it was rewritten, turned into myth, shame, and misfortune. Friday the 13th became âunluckyâ not because it was dangerous, but because it was powerful.
Midwives became witches, sacred rites were name heretical and the very symbols of feminine strength, the moon, the cycles, the number 13 were stolen and used to instill fear where there was once reverence.
We reclaim this day as a celebration of the Sacred Feminine, of Freyja, of Oshun, of Yemaya, of Mami Wata.
Do something a little sassy today!
Say NO without explaining yourself, wear the red lipstick and the âtoo muchâ dress that you have been saving for whatever reason, dance, sing and celebrate with your âsistersâ.......
Today, we remember.
Today is ours.

In a world that often pulls us away from our natural rhythms, this sacred walk through the forest offers a path back to wholeness. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), this experience invites deep healing through sensory presence, mindful movement, and ritual connection with the land.
Together, weâll remember what it means to belongâto our bodies, to the Earth, and to the wild wisdom within. As you walk, pause, and listen, the forest becomes both sanctuary and guide.
In celebration of the Summer Solstice, we will gather in ceremony to honour the light at its peak. Through simple ritual and offering, we will acknowledge the turning of the wheel, give thanks for the abundance of this season, and set intentions for the months ahead. The solstice ceremony will be woven gently into our time in the forest, grounding our experience in the greater rhythm of the Earth.
As you slow down and soften into the rhythm of the forest, the noise of the world falls awayâmaking space for stillness, deep listening, and the quiet voice of your soul to rise and be heard.
No experience needed, just bring an open heart and a willingness to slow down.
All bodies and backgrounds welcome.
