Join BJJ Fight Club in its 30th anniversary year for an epic 3-day long seminar mainlined by Alex Roque. In the spirit of the club, this seminar will also be featuring lessons from a selection of Alex’s black belt students, including none other than Kevin Goat, who owns and operates his own academy in Calgary and has a large following online with his excellent self-defense content. Between Alex Roque and his students, there are over 100 years of cumulative experience and knowledge waiting to be passed on to you over these 3 days!

With most of Alex Roque’s instructors having over 20 years of experience in BJJ - let alone other martial arts, combatives and law enforcement - expect to see a wide variety of skills and styles presented that will surely refine your game, or possibly introduce you to new concepts all-together. It was an honor and a pleasure to host Grandmaster Joe Moreira at our club once again. 9 hours of training in total, 2 new 4th degree black belts, and lots of new knowledge to soak up and study.

A few things that stood out above everything were the GM Joe Moreira principles that simplify the "game" of Jiu-Jitsu, so that you have a guiding compass in all situations. His emphasis on valuing and teaching principles and techniques that a small 110lb female, or someone older and frail, can successfully do to GM Joe himself is incredibly important to him. He made it quite clear that if you can't do it on someone bigger, it's not Jiu-Jitsu. Maybe sport, but not BJJ. No matter how gifted and successful you are in your competitions, if you let your ego get you in trouble, or go looking for trouble, you're not practicing Jiu-Jitsu.

BJJ is a way of life, to take care of yourself both inside and out, and to take care of those you love. Be a better version of yourself, and you'll make the world around you a better, safer place.

Our second day of Grandmaster Joe Moreira's seminar came with a special surprise to some... the promotion of Professor Jimmy Dhaliwal and Professor Alex Siedule to 4th degree black belts under GM Joe Moreira himself! Combined, Alex and Jimmy have 50 years of experience behind those belts. They are excellent practitioners, excellent teachers and excellent human beings with big hearts and minds.

Congratulations you two! Big OSS!
