Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Paul played his junior golf at the Abercrombie Golf Club. In 2005, he turned professional while working at The Chateau Whistler Golf Club. The next 4 years would be spend at The Royal Montreal Golf Club as a teaching professional, learning his craft at one of the finest golf clubs in Canada.
