Our Board works with a spirit of teamwork and mutual support—sharing skills, crossing roles when needed, and working together to move the organization forward. We ask for a minimum 2-year commitment to support strong continuity and succession planning.

Open Houses at Calgary Nature Kindergarten 🏫

Welcome our Educational Assistant! 🧑‍🏫

Aneka is the Educational Assistant at our at the Red Deer Lake United Church Nature Kindergarten Location.

Aneka’s background is in recreation therapy, where she gained an appreciation for how important recreation, art and nature is to overall wellbeing. Aneka has also spent several years working with children in education.

Aneka enjoys getting outdoors with her family visiting special spots throughout the City and beyond. Aneka also loves being outdoors with the kindergarteners getting to know the park and becoming connected to it.

Pumpkins at Nature Kindergarten 🎃

The children and their families arrived last week at Lloyd Park with pumpkins!

Some children joined our educators in carving happy, spooky, and silly faces. While others made different designs like a handprint, a monster truck, or unique geometry .

They also helped scoop out the seeds and pumpkin guts, which we saved to roast and taste later.

The shelter was filled with laughter, curiosity, and a little bit of pumpkin mess.

After carving, we explored Lloyd Park to find the perfect spot to leave our pumpkins. It felt like building a little pumpkin village in the forest.

We finished the day with a peaceful sit spot, taking a few quiet moments to rest, listen, and notice the beauty all around us.
