Look how high K climbed today!!! It took a lot of coaching and guidance to get him back down, though. He was so proud of himself for staying calm and focused instead of panicking and needing a rescue. 👏👏👏 In my dayhome, I don't save the day - I teach the kids how to save themselves.

Trying to get a few more days in at St. Isabella school park before school starts back up in 2 weeks.

Look who just came for a visit! 🥰

🌧️💦 From jumping in puddles and taking turns at tee ball to going on an “adventure” walk, there was so much fun to be had outside today! 🌿⚾️

Back in the yard, we kept the fun going with sink-and-float experiments and some very creative pretend play - making delicious “jellyfish soup” with bark! 🪼🍲

We had a great day!! 💛✨

Emergent play is all about following the children’s lead rather than sticking to a rigid plan. This morning was the perfect example of this! Since adding the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom book onto our shelf, the children have been obsessed!! What started as storytime quickly turned into a morning of child-led fun.

Together, we made a magnet board and later, the children made their own coconut trees!

None of this was on my required lesson plan, but look at how much learning happened naturally:

Sometimes the best lessons happen when we don’t plan them at all, but instead run with what the children are excited about! ❤️

I don’t think my kids have ever met a puddle they didn’t like. 💦

The goal of this activity is to match each colorful shape to its spot on the board and push it into place.

This is a fun hands-on activity that works on dexterity, hand-eye coordination, shape and color recognition, focus, concentration, and problem-solving skills. The kids all really enjoyed it! 🧩🧠
